Zone 11 Bowling Association Inc.

Near results – on Saturday 18th June, the finals of the No.6 & 7 Grade Zone Pennants were completed. At Black Head BC, Taree West overcame Harrington BC to run out comfortable winners of the Zone No.6 Grade Pennant. At Sporties BC, an extra end was required to separate Pacific Palms & Forster BCs’ in the Grade 7 Final, with Pacific Palms winning the title by the odd couple of shots.

Congratulations to the winners who are now off to the State Finals, at opposite ends of New South Wales.

Far results – Congratulations to Dylan Riley who made it to the last 32 of the Australian Open Singles but, unfortunately, was knocked out by Bridger of Suburban (QLD). Dylan and his partner, Keeden McGuire, are still in the Pairs competition and play their knock out game tomorrow (Monday 20th June). We all wish them the best of luck.

The Australian Open has seen a number of upsets this year, with favourites not going the distance and overseas players’ being prominent at the pointy end of the disciplines. But then the name of the game is bowls!
