Congratulations to the local team of Steve Phillips, Kevin Brand, Dave Penman and Peter Schroeder who have just won the State R.S.L. Fours Championship. The final series was played at Blacktown Workers Club in Sydney. Â In the semi-final they defeated a team from Raymond Terrace 25-16 and in the final they won against a team from Windsor 23-13.
In the last three years this team has built up an enviable record in this championship. They won in 2015 with the late Stan Wilson as skip. In 2016 Peter moved to skip and Steve came into the side and they were runners-up, and this year they are again champions. Two wins and a second over the last three years in a state championship is record to be extremely proud of.
